Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Launches MPTC Speed Test

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has officially launched the MPTC Speed Test app, which the public can download for free from the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store.

In the announcement of the launch of the MPTC Speed Test, the Ministry of Posts said that in order to protect the rights and interests of users to access quality telecommunications services and improve the transparency of data and specific information about users’ internet status, the Ministry has developed the "MPTC Speed Test".

The announcement added that the results of user surveys will be the data needed to analyze and find solutions to improving the quality of telecommunications services.

The MPTC Speed Test's main function is to measure the internet performance anywhere and anytime, showing clear results on download speed, upload speed, latency, jitter and quality of watching videos on YouTube, etc., which is essential information for daily internet use.

In addition, in the event that this measurement results show that the quality of the internet service is abnormal or at an unusable level, users may utilize the results as evidence and report it to the Telecommunications Regulator of Cambodia via the Hotline 6789, or by sending an email to qos@trc.gov.kh to file a complaint and find a solution.
